Time to relax! People are still discovering kratom’s relaxing benefits even in 2020.

Kratom originates from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. While the world has learned a lot about what kratom has to offer, there is still much to explore.

Sometimes it is difficult to know how much kratom to take. Many do worry that taking too much will leave them sedated, and taking too little won’t do anything to relax the body.

Different bodies will process kratom differently. Trying to track any patterns of kratom usage in people’s bodies is complicated, and more research still needs to be done.

There is no need to worry, though! This guide here will help you figure out how much kratom to take to reach sweet, sweet relaxation.

Kratom and Metabolism

People’s metabolisms differ from others’. The effects of kratom on your own body will depend on how much you take and also how quickly you digest it.

You’re the only one who knows your own metabolism best. However, it is best to start with a small kratom dosage.

You can always work up to a larger dose, but even those with fast metabolisms might want to consider their own tolerance levels.

Kratom and Tolerance

Tolerance is partly linked to metabolism and partly linked to how much kratom your body is used to taking.

As said before, people’s individual metabolisms do not react the same to different dosages of kratom. People also have different tolerance levels, and these tolerance levels also build differently over time.

There are no FDA-approved uses of kratom, so it is a good idea to start with a low dosage. You can always increase your dosage if you feel you are developing a tolerance to the initial dose level.

Unless you’re taking kratom every day, it is likely you won’t even develop a tolerance for it. Even taking it two or three times per week, you are unlikely to develop tolerance.

How Much Kratom to Take

Since kratom is not regulated at the federal level, there is no for-sure way to determine what your ideal dosage should be. Here is a good estimate:

  • 1.5 g for 150 lbs
  • 2 g for 200 lbs

Wait 30 minutes after your first dose to see how it affects you. If you need more, try increasing by about 1 gram.

Taking too much kratom has a possible sedating effect. If you do take even a little bit too much, you may have to spend time waiting out the effects of kratom rather than enjoying all of its benefits.

Also, do not eyeball your dosage. Measure it out to avoid a dosage that could be higher than expected!

Relaxant or Stimulant?

Kratom does help relax the body, but in lower doses, it can act as a stimulant of sorts. In this stimulation, people feel a bit more cheerful in disposition too.

A low kratom dosage may also aid in better sleep. Kratom dosage for pain relief is also a consideration: how much does your body require? How much can your body handle to give you the sleep you need?

With a higher kratom dosage, make sure you’ve built up the correct tolerance or that your body can handle it. Higher kratom dosages often cause sleepiness and fatigue, though they do act as an anti-anxiety measure.

Different Kratom Types

Kratom comes in varying strains. Depending on what you’re seeking to use kratom for, you can look into different kratom strains to help you make your decision.

It also depends on if you are using a ground leaf form of kratom or an extract. Even finely ground kratom powder versus loosely ground differs in weight. When taking a powder form of kratom, remain mindful that even a teaspoon has about 4 grams of kratom in it.

If you’re ingesting kratom from capsules, one capsule will have around .5 grams in it. Taking multiple capsules will not necessarily be a high dose of kratom, but doublecheck your packaging for specifics.

Make Sure You Drink Enough Water

Stay hydrated! Kratom is dehydrating, so you want to make sure you’re drinking plenty of water before and after ingesting it.

Side effects of kratom can increase if you’re feeling dehydrated. By drinking enough water, you can ensure that your kratom dosage is most effective and enjoyable for you and your body. Better safe than sorry!

Get Your Kratom Dosing Just Right

People’s metabolisms do play a part in kratom dosage, like tolerance. Developing a tolerance for kratom can happen, so make sure you start with lower dosages and increase in increments rather than begin with a high kratom dosage.

Knowing how much kratom to take is tricky. You do not want to feel heavily sedated, but you do want to feel some of the beneficial effects, like an uplifted mood and possibly feeling more focused and relaxed. Still, make sure you measure a mild dosage (initially) appropriate for your body weight.

Depending on how much you take, as well as your body’s tolerance levels, the effects of kratom will vary. Different kratom strains also play a part in what sort of effects you will feel when taking kratom. And make sure you drink enough water, otherwise, your dehydration and kratom dosage will work against you.

Kratom’s benefits are wonderful. It feels good to release tension and embrace relaxation, to say good-bye to anxiety, and hello to calmness.
