Front-End Web Developer

Summary of Job Requirements:

Our Front End Web Developers are exceptional, experienced senior software engineers who obsess over user interface development for consumer facing web services. Our Front End Web Developer reports directly to our CTO. Our Front End Developers work closely with our product and UI design teams to code functional and visually appealing UI for FitOrbit.com. We code in the latest web and UI technologies including HTML/CSS/Ajax/Java/Jquery and more. We are a cloud-based web service developed in Ruby on Rails using an Agile development methodology with weekly releases.

Our front-end web developers can work at our ocean view offices near Santa Monica, CA or may telecommute from their home anywhere in the continental United States.

Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum 4 Year Degree in Computer Science, Design or other relevant discipline.
    • Superlative coding skills in relevant technologies including Ajax, HTML, CSS, Java, Jquery, and more.
    • Strong experience building leading consumer-oriented websites compatible with IE7/8, Chrome, Firefox and Safari (must show portfolio of relevant work)
    • Intimate familiarity with at least one template language (e.g. Ruby on Rails, JSP, ASP, Template Toolkit)
    • Experience with Ruby on Rails is a strong plus

Senior Developers are involved in all aspects of our product development, including architecture design, actual hands-on coding and R&D as well. Developers formally report to our CTO, but we work in a team-oriented, open environment. We are a cloud-based service developed in Ruby on Rails. Strong RoR experience is preferred, but not required IF you have exceptional experience in object-oriented web development. We develop using Agile methodologies with weekly releases.

Our Online Marketing Manager is responsible for driving new paying subscribers to FitOrbit.com using display ads, referrals, social media marketing, SEO/SEM, e-mail marketing and an effective affiliate network. Our Online Marketing Manager will measure, analyze and report all relevant marketing-related metrics; and use those metrics to optimize marketing channels and maximize conversion rates and LTV.
