Your big day is approaching fast. You're feeling excited and nervous, everything a bride should feel. But you just wish your arms were a little less flabby, or your waist was a bit more cinched. Toning up for your wedding day is on your mind and time is ticking away.
It's not too late to look toned and trim for your wedding day! Even if you have just a week to go, you can do something to make you look and feel your best for your big day.
You can start by assessing exactly what you want to accomplish and double checking to make sure you aren't asking for too much. If you are down to your last week, the 15 pound weight loss you envisioned six months ago might just not happen. So first things first: set realistic goals. A two pound weight loss and freshly toned arms are reasonable and attainable goals with just one week before your wedding and will make you feel brand new.
With a week to go, you're going to have to kick up your workout routine a few notches. If you are already working out, hone in on what improvements you can make. Your cardio routine is the number one place to amp it up. Doing 30 minutes on a treadmill? Kick up the incline and move a little faster for a longer period of time. Try for 45 minutes of juiced up moves, going at a pace that is challenging but not impossible to keep up.
Next add in some weight training. After your cardio, choose a free weight that exhausts you after 10-12 repetitions. The basics will do fine. We are trying to tone up quick, not reinvent the wheel. Simple bicep curls, tricep kick-backs, shoulder presses and lateral raises are plenty to get you going. Not sure how to do these moves? Get yourself a weeks worth of personal training. The tips you get will last you a lifetime.
Don't have a treadmill or free weights? Get outside for a hike or power walk and then get down into some good old-fashioned pushups and tricep dips. Planks are an amazing exercise to target your whole body and you don't need any equipment for them. Choosing multi- muscle exercises, like squats with bicep curls, or lunges with shoulder presses, will amp up your routine by maximizing the number of muscles you work at a time.
Still not sure what to do? Most gyms will sell you a weeks membership. With a week to go, there are no excuses! Only solutions.
Addressing your diet is a huge undertaking with so little time to work on it, but paring down to the basics is the way to go. No extras. No sugar, no white flour, no high fat processed foods. Fresh vegetables and fruit and lots of lean protein and water will do for this final push. Remember that you are aiming to burn more calories than you take in, so add in exercise whenever and wherever you can.
Wedding workouts can be fun, invigorating and just the ticket to fend off nervous jitters. Working out can be the best way not only to look your best, but will help you feel calm and at ease when you walk down that aisle.
