There is nothing more enlightening than taking the body on a holistic and physical journey through exercise. Muscle development, toning, nutrition – These are all challenges that manifest long-term health benefits while striving to strengthen the core of one's life.
Pilates or yoga can help you to reconnect with your workout through peaceful stretching of the muscles, which will bring therapeutic harmony to your physical environment. Your body's posture and flexibility will generate an inner calm and you will feel happier and energetic.
Purify your body. Allow your body to become a source of physical and mental wellbeing by releasing toxins and other impurities that can cause cancer and heart disease. Antioxidants are abundant in beans, grains, fruits and vegetables. Look for fruits with bright color, like the yellow found in corn; orange in cantaloupe, butternut squash and mango; red from tomatoes and purple and blue in berries.
Finally, when exercising, consider the similarities between yourself and the extraordinary lotus flower which grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkably enhanced beauty. Similarly, resistance training, weight training and cardiovascular activity in the beginning may appear daunting, but by reconnecting with your workout, you can free yourself of stale exercise patterns and, instead, embrace wholeness for a better, well-rounded you.
